i own an Audi A3 2002 model 1.8 std, i have a problem with the heat guage showing over temperature, ive taken it to the agents and theyve told me its the instrument cluster of which the whole unit needs to be replaced. It doenst make sense to change the whole unit, any advice on what too do.

 

The temperature sensor or themostat might be at fault.
