Default Please help me identify this part.

I just recently purchased a 2002 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T.

The car looks and runs great, but I noticed today when looking under the hood, there is a piece that looks to be corroded, with a small hole in it.

I can't find any information in the owner's manual or in the Haynes book either. If someone could identify what this part is, I'd like to replace it, even if it may not be causing any noticeable problems yet.

I’ve attached two pictures. The first is to give you an idea of where this exists under the hood. The second is a close-up of the part in question.

OK. I may have figured it out...
partially from this thread: https://www.audiforums.com/forum/audi-a4-8/cel-p0456-evap-small-leak-troubleshooting-%2Asolved%2A-59466/

It appears to be the EVAP Purge Control Valve?

So, I'm sure I can get the part and get it replaced... but I am somewhat curious... what is the urgency on this?
is it something that can wait a few weeks until I find some time, or does it need to be done as soon as possible?
