Dear guys,

This is my first post, but i've been lurking around for awhile now. I have a 03 A4 and everything has been fine and dandy. However, recently, i noticed that my audio system doesn't work anymore. Everytime i turn it on, it reads "SAFE" and nothing works, cd/tape/fm nothing. The buttons dont respond and all it reads is "SAFE" i cannot find it in the owners manual, do you guys have any idea what is happening and do you have a fix? thanks in advance.

Your battery is going low causing your radio to go into safe mode. Check you radio manuel. Theres a code in that book that you need to input into the radio for it to work again. Otherwise you have to get the code from the dealer.

 

you can also try holding down the mode button and then pressing the power button that sometimes unlocks it, but dankhound is right when he said its prolly your battery going dead

 

Check the trunk near the spare for the code also.
