Default Rear Disc Brakes

I drive a 98' Audi A4 Quattro 2.8. I am planning on replacing my rear brake discs soon. I believe that the right size is 245mm x 10mm although I am also receiving 288mm x 25mm discs from search results. Would any of the two sizes fit or does it have to be one size.

I am also looking to get some performance discs. Do you know of any good performance brakes that you are satisfied with? I am also planning on doing the brakes myself, never done so in the past so any suggestions would be great.

15mm thicker disc is a big difference... w/ new pads the caliper might not fit

Thanks, I just checked and there was not much room to play. Well, I should get the 9.6" x .4" Any advice on which brand of disc brakes?

i think it'll all depend on how much you wanna pay. you can get some nice discs for well over $100 each, or you can get some cheap but normal. alldepends on what you want

I been using DBA Brakes or EBC Brakes. Never had problems with them.

Unless you are doing some heavy duty driving OEM would be fine. I suggest a very cost effective break upgrade, stainless steel break lines front & back. For about $100, you can get thses lines and the breaking will be noticeably better. Paragon Performance in CA, has them. I got them for my 96 a6 avant and it stops like a champ, dead straight with a rock hard pedal. I would also suggest a compleat break fluid replacement, use the search function, I did a diy for a full break fluid replacement.

Also, you will need the special tool to re set the pistons in the rear calipers
