Default The right Temperature

Ok here is a real simple stupid question (that I dont know)!!!!!

- What is the ok temp my car should be running at?

- Also what temp should my oil be (at what point should I be concerned)?

I have a 99.5 audi A4 quattro 2.8

Are you talking about coolant temp? It should be in the middle, & stay there.

Not to sure about the oil in a 2.8, but 200-230 would make me happy.

Yeah, my temperature always stays in the middle and I think that's where you want it to be.

coolant temp should be at the half way point and stay there. the oil temp on my 2.8 is about 180F in the winter and never even on the hottest days goes above 225F. 225F is the benchmark for all the B5 based cars. i remember my buddies S4 never went past the 225F mark and then out of the blew it started to get into the 250 and sometimes 275 area. but then again he had a chipped and probably overboosted car.
