hey guys need some help.. i got a 99 a4 2.8 with a rough idle.
no check engine light and car runs great otherwise.. has new plugs coil and wire year old mass air and air temp sensor the same..clean throttle body and did relearn..checked all vacuum linesand intake manifold gaskets..
help please..

 

what exactly does "rough idle" mean?

 

rough idle feels like a cylinder is miss firing, vib at idle..

 

I had a similar problem and all it needed was a code when i took it to a shop and that fixed it...

 

yea, my 00 a8 does the same thing every now and then. vibes to give you fear, but no performance difference. generally mine is the roughest after i clear an engine code using the VAG scanner. but yea, im still gonna get it checked out when i get my oil change monday.
