S4 Rough Idle & Acceleration
Hi Everyone,
Before I start any information will be gratefully received and I thank in advance for any help.
So here goes - I have a 1994 Audi S4 which recently had a flat battery due to a sticking indicator relay which is all fixed.
The car was jump started and now runs like a bag of nails and is worse from cold.
The acceleration is hesitant and is lacking on power by probably 40-50%.
I was told to get the throttle reset by a dealer but they claim this is not the fault and I must get the HT leads replaced along with the oxygen sensor. My problem is that these items check out ok when tested by me!!
I am desperate here please help I want my car fixed and the dealers are bloody useless.
Regards
Shakey

OBDII started in 1994, it was mandated in 1996
and it sounds like a throttle body adaptation. if i were you, i'd complain to the dealer's service manager. i'd tell him you called other audi dealers and talked to lead techs and they were shocked they didn't even attempt to reset the throttle body adaptation. You feel like your being ripped off and your going to file a complaint w/ Audi of America.
cause if you had an faulty o2 sensor... you'd have a CEL for a faulty emission device. you know you don't have a fault, you scanned it yourself
but watch them jump thru some hoops to get it right. economy is bad right now, work is slow. i wouldn't be surprised someone trying to make an extra buck off you
