Seat belt question
Hi, I'm new to the forum. So hope I'm doing this right...
Recently purchased an a4 Quattro, 2014, 4 door, base, 2.0 motor, 90,000 klms. We are located in Ontario Canada. The car was an insurance write off, not a lot of damage, passenger side replaced. The airbag had deployed and has been repaired, but all 3 rear belts are locked tight and the front ones don't respond by locking to braking or retracting. I saw some threads about similar issues, the deployment of belt system and replacing retractors... Audi dealer says rear belts should not be locked, they weren't in use only the front 2 (which are not locked) suggested to replace all the belts completely, big$, just wonder if anyone has any suggestions? I've seen companies in the US that repair them, but not sure if it's the right repair and not sure it would totally remedy the issue, we have a new module, but can't reprogram until belt issue remedied. Just thought we'd check for ideas before going the dealer route, we have a child so it's especially important that the safety system works! Thanks
