First of all I know I have to get a Vag tool and find the codes. Just trying to get an idea beforehand on where to look. I think you guys have alot more experience with these machines, I'm still learning. The car which happens to be a 1998 A4 quattro 1.8T 5 speed with awe 1 bar ecu, exhaust with dp, air filter intake and heat shield, with the AEB engine i think. Well, this morning going on my way normal driving she starts to lose power popping or rather burbeling from the exhaust running rough and not making the boost ofcourse that it should be making. Feels like I'm missing, anyone have this happen to them. Otherwise have had her for 4 years she runs great.

 

Had the same thing, Check for spark on all 4 cylinders. Could be a failed coil or notorious ignition control module mounted on top the air box. Flashing check engine light or just on solid?
