Sounds like one of the ABS senors has broken down if you have access to VAG this can be tested. Go into
brakes 03
Read measured value blocks 08
001
this will display the readouts of the ABS sensors for all four wheels, then just drive the car while monitoring the read outs and see if any are diffrent to the rest. If so the ABS sensor requires replacment.

well i know the ABS modulator is messed up. i have the diagnostics from audi, but i was just wondering if the ABS modulator and the speed sensor were the same thing because if they are, it'd be cheaper for me to buy those, but i just need to know. thanks!

The ABS computer is not the ABS wheel sensor.

The abs modulator is located under the hood on the drivers side.. the speed sensors are at each wheel.. the modulator is fairly expensive to buy new.. you might want to try to find a good used one!
