2008 a4 2.0 sedan with 101k miles.
Car has an intermittent starting issue-- for the past 8 weeks or so.. sometimes when i turn it on it cranks and does not 'catch', one or two more attempts and it starts up. Runs fine.
Ideas???

 

I had that issue in my A8 a while back. Turned out to be the fuel pump. When you turn the key to the on position (not trying to start), do you hear the fuel pump running for a few seconds and shut off. The pump should run for a few seconds to prime the fuel system but if you do not try to start the engine, the ECU will turn off the fuel pump until it sees the engine cranking over.
