I have an early model 98 A4. I am wondering if anyone can tell me what this might be when my car shifts right before shifting it stuters a little then shifts and stutters again a little. Other than that it drives fine. Sometimes as it shifts it will rev a little like a couple hundred rpm. It is a 2.8 quattro auto. I have been told it could need a fluid and filter change or a torque converter. Now the the thing is I can do a lot myself and planing on doing that but need to know what to do first. The fluid and change will be about $225 but if it is not that thats a lot of money to dump in the waste oil barrel. It does have a check engine light on but the only code is an Evap code, and from what I read on here if its the torque convereter I should have codes. Please help I love my car and want to get this fixed.
