I own a 2001 A6 2.7t with tiptronic transmission. I had to drive through alot of water during a very heavy rainstorm and made it through while other cars stalled out. Unfortunately, the next day the car would not start. The dashboard and headlights all come on, but it wont start. No engine turning or nothing. What could be the problem.

 

water in a sensor may be the problem....most good cars will prevent you from starting them with water in the motor so you dont blow it. if this is the case wait a day for the water to evaporate and try again.

 

Nothing in your audi will prevent it from starting with water in the engine. What is your battery voltage? Driving thur the water may have created a short that drained the battery. Next thing to check would be wheter you get 12v from the battery to the starter. Then if you get a crank signal at the connector on the starter.
