Vent filter for fuel tank?

Default Vent filter for fuel tank?

Hi!
I have a 2000 A-4 Quattro 1.8 turbo 5 speed when filling the fuel tank the pump shuts off a lot and there is pressure in the tank the Audi dealer says its the canister fulter? and they want several houndered dollars to repair. I thingk I can replace this myself but cant find it any where in the manual or on line does anyone know where it is located? this is not the emitions filter under the hood it is elswhere. Any help would be great. Thanks!

They are talking about the charchoal canister which IS part of the evap system.

Yes I know but where is it ?
Its not in the engine bay nor under the car or in the trunk I have the part but cant find any thing that looks like it any where
