What Audi and what to watch out for
Looking into picking up my first Audi, probably about 6 - 10 years old, roughly 200k miles. Is there anything specific i should stay away from? Were some model years in the late 80's early 20's prone to some mechanical issue?
For example i see lots of Quatro's in the late 80's vintage that have transmission problems. Is this common, do folks just replace them or get them rebuilt? I don't have any issues installing a new motor or transmission, just want to make sure i don't spend 1500 - 2500 dollars and find out a transmission rebuild is 5k.
Show me the ropes and let me know what to look for.
Thanks.

Well as far as Audi's go, they all will have some type of electrical problem. As of right now mine is constantly draining power from the battery which causes it to be dead after so long. But, as for replacing o rebuilding a tranny. It wont be cheap unless you go buy one from a junkyard. Hopefully you drive Manual, because automatics have all sorts of components that go with the car. I hope I could Help!
