My Audi 2.6E V6 (C4) model has been whining (sounds like a jet take off) whenever i reach speeds from 40km/h to 80km/h. Could anyone advise whats the cause of this? Is it transmission bearing (if so is it a tough job and costly)?

BTW i did coast the car on Neutral and the noise is still prevalent while coasting.

Its probably a wheel bearing, have a shop diagnose which wheel/s are the problem. Its a common issue on audis.
