Default why is this crank "improvement" confusing me

Trying to figure out how to change this rear seal... Simply!!! I thought the same for my skill level and now I'm speechless.
See....

BOTH cranks are from 4.2l V8 40v belt timing motors.

Sealing surface diameter is smaller then the rear most flange🤔

And again it's not simple like some, this one did slip off and on.

Removing I only seen pushing inboard( little by little LIGHT taps around seal's edge)from the rear seal plate onto the crank. Then remove it. But how to get new seal flexing over that larger rear crank flange???

Am I missing something?

*********i missed that this was in fact a spacer on the end. i didnt see a line and did hit it couple times. but onece i seen a diagram in the manual, i hit it with more confidence came off. sorry for confusion .*************************************

I measured the metal cup molded inside the seal, it's inner diameter was smaller then the crank flank. So I thought I did find the seal with the tool but IDK. Mahle Original Rear Main Seals 67830
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mah-67830#overview

Top flange came off smooth crank while torn bottom flange was one I had to push onto crank/out of flange then pried off. So I cannot measure actual seal off bad crank. But same part number, post-it is part number bapgeon gave me. Came up as flange with seal, didn't show a tool. And national seal has a core that may work out.

I carefully removed flelt and rubber for the metal core, they're both bare inner edges!

I order from summit but won't get here till October. So I'll make a tool while figuring if I'll try it on this motor.
I think national may work, I really can't accurately feel when it ends without digging into it. But it gently feels to be around same size as crank flange.
