Exclamation 4.2 intake help

Hi I have a 2000 audi a6 4.2 I want to put a intake on it but they dont make one for it so what do I put in it for a drop in filter? I dont know if the oil off the k&n filter will mess up my mass air flow?

MY stock filter is all messed up with holes in it so i need a new one as it is so just trying to see what i can put in it thanks.

Yes the oil messes up the MAF. Just get the usual purolator filter and you should be A-Okay.

Honestly there are should be two star screws holding the air filter housing together I just took them off and put a specter air filter were that was... It gotta have a adapter tough cause i don't know how wide the pipe is.... But the air filter is only 26 bucks and fit fine.... No problems ...

The K&N filter will not mess up you mass airflow sensor. The only way the oil from the filter would get to your mass airflow sensor is by putting too much oil on the filter after you have cleaned it. If you oil it like it was when you first buy it you will not have any problems. My dad has run a K&N filter in his 98 A8 4.2 for years, washed and reoiled it and had no troubles his mass airflow sensor.
