Default Check Engine Light from Converter

Well my wifes check engine light came on and I pulled the codes and it came out to be the cat. Well, Im not replacing the car as Indiana doesnt have emission checking and its not hurting anything so Im sure as hell not spending 1500 on it. But... I would like the check engine light off. Is there anything I can do to get that to go away like some rear O2 delete plugs or anything of that nature. Im a mustang guy and did this with my GT when I got my exhaust setup and wasnt sure if they sold something similar for the audis or not. So I could really use some of your guys' expertise...

Thanks.

BTW- This is on an 02 A4.

If it's the P0401 code or something like that that it could be the cat or your O2 sensor. The light will stay there, you can try to reset it but it's just going to come back, better saving up for the O2 sensor see if that fixes it if not just get the Catalityc converter later on.
