Default Exhaust for a A6 2.7T

Hello,

I am looking into getting an exhaust custom made for my 01 A6 and was wondering if anyone had experience with aftermarket exhausts on the A6? What size diameter should I look for? Also is there a brand of muffler that anyone likes? I am looking for a deep sound, not a buzzy sound like my riceburner Eclipse had. Whats a good diameter to go for to gain a little power and sound decent? Thanks in advance!

Peace

I used to have a UUC cat-back exhaust. (I've upgraded since.) It has nice deep growl.

For custom work, you don't want go larger than 2.5" because you will lose performance. I'm sure someone here would want to argue that, but as you increase the diameter, you begin to degrade performance.

Regardless, you won't get a riceburner sound because you're starting off with a better engine. Remember, it's the engine that is originating the sound.

I've heard some owners using Magnaflow for mufflers on custom pipes with good results.

Hope this helps.
