hey guys, my names Nik im new to the Audi world... lol I own a 97 a4 Quattro b5 auto.
i have a g.m. 3.8l v6 in my garage just sitting there its a great inexpensive engine that i can build at my budget. I was just wondering can i swap out my Audi 2.8 with a gm 3.8 and is this possible with an automaic? and what would i need other than a spacer plate starter computer headers and all the basics... would i need any little bells and whistles?
please give me some input thanks

well anythings possible if you really want it to be.im sure you could build supercharged audi 2.8 for far less than it would take to swap the gm 3.8 in.

in addition to needing the transmission for the gm engine, you'd probably need to relocate motor mounts, and the electronics and harness would need to be completely swapped over from the current 2.8 (idk about the ecu...might need the gm one?)

i know the 3.8's were pretty reliable, but i think its a project that would be way too much in the way of cost and labor vs. the end result.

thank you
i appreciate the advice
i ended up replacing the original 2.8 and i have the old one sitting on an engine stand in my garage. i read a couple threads about people installing eaton m62 superchargers on 2.8 v6 afc engines and thats my next project
wish me luck
