Have people forgotten about steel wool? Am i really that old?

Toss some - mind you SOME - steel wool in your exhaust. Put it infront of your cat or use a bolt or something to hold it in place. It will be nice and quiet as long as you do it right and dont let it blow out.

Put more in or take some out to get the sound you (and the cops) want. Take it to the police station and have them test it and write you off - not sure about your state, but here in california they will write you out a piece of paper (or give you a sticker to put on your inner door) saying your exhaust is within legal standards. You just flash that piece of paper if you ever get pulled over for a loud exhaust. Return home and remove steel wool.

AGAIN, DO NOT PACK YOUR EXHAUST FULL OF STEEL WOOL - will result in too much backpressure and will turn your engine into a chunk of scrap metal.

*Disclaimer - I take no responsibility if your engine blows up for having too much steel wool stuffed inside the exhaust system.
