Hello all!
I am looking to replace my shifter **** and boot, but am unsure of how to go about replacing the boot. My question is, do I need to remove the trim piece A or B as in the attached photo? If I have to remove B, how do I go about getting it out?

Section B lifts up from the rear and will slide out from under the ashtray once the back is lifted. The boot will disconnect from the **** with downward pressure. There may be pinch tabs on the front and rear but its been a while since i removed mine and I forget. Once the boot is loose the **** with unscrew then the A&B section can be lifted out. The lower half of the boot can be removed from the underside of section B.
