I picked up a 2001 a4 b5 Quatro. I will be going thru it as money allows, but over all it`s in very good shape. I need some advise on the self darkening rear view mirror that is not working. Can they be repaired or should it be replaced. I`ve found one from a member here, but need to know more about this A shop manual is on my list for info, but if mirror has to be replaced I don`t want to lose the one I`am looking at. Thanks for any help.

 

Get it rebuilt. Been there, done that. Used mirrors are not to be trusted. Cost of rebuild is modest, under $100.00 including shipping.

Are you planning on doing a lot work on this car yourself? I suggest you to choose a glass shop that does cars definitely there will be cheaper.
