I own 2 German cars; a 2000 A6 and a 2001 BMW Z3 convertible. Both sport leather seats and have been treated the same since they were new. Today the Z3 seats look almost like new. Just a bit of seat scruff where my bottom runs long the side booster when the top is up.

On the other hand, the A6 need new leather seat bottoms. The side boosters and other areas on the bottom of the seat are split wide open. The leather does not look anything like new. Both are primarily single user vehicles with the front passenger seat used perhaps 10% of the time. Yet it is still split and all. In fact, the Z3 still looks and functions like new. The A6 is still rust free, the paint is perfect, and the manual transmission and 2.7t are fully functional, except for the LED dash display and the inside rearview mirror and one of the rear window guides and the hole in the resonator it is very reliable.

It sure would be nice if Audi gave its customers a break on those LED's, mirrors and leather seat parts.
