^ Correct - not knocking the car, but BMW isnt known for their AWD abilities, it was a knee jerk reaction to losing sales because they are all AWD (Which we all know is the fastest in most cases).

SO. Got home tonight and checked out the car with the VAG - got 2 codes -

16705, 16706, both are engine speed sensor codes. (Also got some instrument cluster code)

a little searchy and it seems like that could have been my problem? Sounds like people are stalling with that code, and it makes the car hard to start (Which I know you noticed jeff). Thoughts? Could be the case? hope it is the case -

so my plan is to wake up tommorrow (yay for my 1st day off this year in may!) and call parktown, get their thoughts. If they think that could be the case then Ill buy that part, and put it in (Hopefully one of the 3 audi dealerships will have it in stock - If not im sure vw could have it).

Any thoughts on this??? good idea?? bad idea? looks like a plug and play install.

could very well be it, and if it is not very expensive..... just throw one in, couldn't hurt..... try vw first as their parts are far cheaper

I have been done for a few days WOOT. Yeah try the VW guys first. the dreaded dean team... Now the next big thing is go to college for me! and get rid of the car. I think I might cry a bit when I drive it for the last time... At least it will still be in the family problems and all.

Anyway I hope you had a good Birthday!

its late but happy b day kelley

Ok I have always wondered this, I understand the stages etc, but do people have their ecus reprogrammed everytimee they upgrade like lets say an exhaust or an intake or something or downpipes. I understand when you go stage 3 you reprogram it for fueling etc, but do you do it for smaller things to? and if so what would you reprogramm your ecu when your stage 2?
