and as for the s4, if you can't afford mods/upgraped on the a6, you really won't be able to on the s4... and the 4.2 doesn't really have any mods, other than exhaust intake and a minor ecu upgrade... unless you have bigs $'s for a s/c or dual turbos

 

That was me! Do you have a class at Maryville (Fenton campus)?I think I've seen your car up there.

 

Go with a 1.8t or stick with the 2.7t, both are great motors ready for upgrading. And both can make V8 power easy.

 

Turbo, I know what your saying that 4.2 is very tough to modify... I saw a mtm supercharger on youtube, it was sick! Its not so much that I don't have the money for mods, but I am just thinking is it worth moding an A6 only to have looks second to the B6 S4 or even a b5 (not sure about the B7, looks well dull IMHO.)

Good News for the MOD enthusiast.... The 2009 S4 b8 will feature a 3.0T. Thats right a bi-turbo 3.0 which stock produces 330 hp. I bet you can chip it and produce around 400 hp. I also guess that the 3.0 is using ko3's so for a Ko4 conversion maybe 520 or so! God, I cant wait for that engine.

 

and you do realize that mtm supercharger is like 10grand......... i could get your 2.7 t or my 1.8t faster than that for about 5....... and i will have alot less displacement

i would much rather have the fastest a6 in town over the "s4" which is suposed to be fast..... that is why i am thinking about do both cars

 

I'd take a B6 S4 over a B5, but that's just me. The 4.2 is a pretty tough motor, too.

 

I know turbo I'm not serious about supercharger, but still think b6 s4 is really good looking. I love the 2.7t and do plan on holding onto it, just like talking about options. Speaking of I might have some door blades to install. How hard are they to install?

off topic, but this got me thinking......

i'm all for high powered performance cars, but with the price of gas practically going up each and every day, does Audireally expect to find much ofa market for that car? or for that matter, even the ones that are already out there. i know there are ultra wealthy people out there that don't even notice the price of gas, but i'd much prefer them look at the mainstream consumer and market a sleek contemporary sports car that won't cost $100K and suck down the gas!
maybe they're already doing this.
i guess i just get frustrated at all the things they put out there that are out of reach. i also don't like the fact that if i did buy one of their "latest and greatest", it would only be a matter of months before something "new and improved" would hit the market, making my prized possession just an oblsoetething of the past.
maybe that's a marketing ploy to brainwashing us that we always need more...in which case, i'm somewhat resentful that the corporation towhichi've been loyal is thanking me by manipulating me.
