Hi Folks,
I am a 54 year old Scotsman and an Audi lover, I have a 2006 A4 2.0 T Quattro in Sprint blue, It`s got to be the best car I have ever owned, a bit costly on the petrol front but it`s worth it for the acceleration. I would like an A5 next but no cash for it at present. Hope this post is in the right place....

Hey y'all. I've admired Audis from afar for a long time now. Of course, I'd hoped my very first would be an R8, but so far the Cash Fairy hasn't made her deposit.
Instead I dropped a meager $5500 on a 1998 A4 1.8T Quattro for my first Audi.
I've owned GM and Ford cars consistently since the early 80's (me now being almost 44 years old, I've had quite a few) - everything from Ford Escorts when I was younger (don't ask - I don't know why), a Camaro in the mid-90's, trucks, minivans, full-size vans, SUV's...you name it. In the 26 years I've been driving, this is only my 2nd venture into non-Big Three autos. The first was a '68 Bug I bought about 3 years ago for $1800 and sold for $750 after driving it to death about 6 months or so ago. There was a Dodge Colt years ago that said "Mitsubishi" everywhere except the outside badging, but I'm not gonna count that.
Anyhow, this car is the most fun I've ever had driving - including the Z06 test drive two years ago (before my finances went into the crapper). I'm really happy to be an Audi owner now, and cautiously hope it stays that way. Hopefully in a couple of years when my head's back above water I can confidently parley this little old Audi into a TT or an A5...we shall see!
Looking forward to getting to know the folks on this forum.
Ciao for now,

First time Audi owner and know very little about the breed, I bought a A4 2.6 1995 model with 85K on the clock and a extensive service history 20 months ago and I am absolutely in love with its performance and all the good things that come with an Audi, since I bought it I have put 35K on the clock with some of those K's in excess of 1,000 km's per trip and have had the oppurtunity to put the "foot down" and as a ex motorcycle racer I'm impressed with its get up and go tempered with good manners. But alas the km's I've put into it have taken a toll and will require some TLC on my part to take good care of my ride, so I'll be surfing around and asking questions of people to give me good advice on how to apply the TLC required to my ride.
(what took me so long to discover Audi, I thought they had something to do with the Olympics)
Cheers all
