Default Hello

Hi,
My name is Steve and I have a 2003 Audi TT roadster with the 1.8 turbo, fwd and a/t. I live on LI, but bought the car from a guy in Binghamton in early 2010. It had 112k and needed work, but the price was right. What I didn't know was how much the "work" was going to cost.
Fortunately, even though he's not cheap, I found a guy who works at an Audi dealership but also runs his own place.
In the last 2 years I have replaced the front suspension, the timing belt, both axle boots, the entire breathing system, the O2 sensor, and even replaced the tranny fluid (which is a major process again unknown to me). Also bought new tires.
Since I don't live far from my job, I've only put about 15k in 2 years. But I honestly love the car. It handles great and has plenty of pep. I have developed a problem which I will discuss elsewhere. Damn glad to be here. Take care.

Default Hey..

Glad to be here. Visited here in the past to research some issues and the advice was sound. Some newbs gave some questionable advice, but everyone tried to help and thats what we're here for right? I'm an older guy with alot of mechanical experience on domestic cars, (proficient in anything '72 or earlier), but tried everything else. First started taking the cars to mechanics only in the past three years, bad back and failing eyesight getting the best of me. I have a
'99 Quattro Avant I bought a year ago, (absolutely love the thing), and a '01 A4 Quattro, My daughter has a '03 A8, probably the Bentley of all Audis in my o p.. Great safe vehicles, performance comes stock so it seems. They are different to work on that is for sure. Well hope be helpful and get some help here in the future.. again glad to be here... George
