whats up guys im new to the audi world and i need some help.....i have a 04 a6 2.7t sline tiptronic which recently blew a catalytic converter.i figured since i have to drop the motor to change cats i should change the turbos while im in there but idk where to start. im looking into frankenturbos but i was told once i put those in imma have to do fueling upgrade as well is that true? will the frankenturbo setup even fit on my car? cause im mostly seeing modded 2000 to 2002 a6 never a 04 is there a difference turbo wise ?

 

What happened to the cat? Fault codes or major melt down.
The engine does not have to be removed to do cats on your car.
If you replace a cat you should also replace both o/2 sensors that go into it.

 

I started my car one day and it was putting like crazy and the check engine light was flashing. So when I pulled over and look under the hood the catalystic converter on the passenger side was red hot

 

this happened to me too. the CEL and engine misfiring is due to multiple failed coil packs. the cat was glowing red because it was getting a ton not completely burned fuel going through there, so odds are, it will be toast.

get the coil packs replaced under the recall from audi, and see if they will do anything to compensate for the catalytic converter.
