Does it have maintenance records? All depends, really. If it's been taken care of, i.e. recommended maintenance, rebuilt turbos, tires all match, etc, then it could be fine. I'd offer $3000 & work up from there, though! Good luck...//TJ

Willkommen to the forums!

I agree with TJ. It can be a good deal, if the car has been well maintained. Even if it has been well maintained, at 200K miles you are going to be having issues. I would expect that the car can be a fun project, weekend vehicle, but I don't think I would have a lot of faith in it as a daily driver.

good luck

have fun

no service records, but the owner that had it before this guy was a BMW mechanic, and said it has lots of new parts and was well maintained and it hasnt had any performance mods

If I have to be completely honest, I wouldn't buy one of these cars with 200k w/o service records. They are awesome vehicles, but they can be maintenance heavy & costly to repair if not maintained. At $4K, with no records, & based only on the seller's heresay, I wouldn't do it unless you have a decent amount set aside for repairs. If you can, spend a little more & get one w/less miles & more documentation Not trying to be a douche, & if you end up getting it, it'll still put a smile on your face to drive. I hope it works out well, either way!...//TJ
