I have a 01 a6 4.2. I love it! However it has had close to 15k worth of work done to it this year alone in repairs. Thank the Lord for extended warrantys!

I recently took the transmmission cover off in an effort to get behind the radio (dumb move)

Underneath the aluminun shift gate there 3 pieces of plastic that cover the gate when u shift manually. Does any one have a diagram indicating how these 3 plastic covers line up and go back into place?

The biggest problem is after carefully reasembeling the shift gate (and pluging the green electric board back in which lights up the gate at night) my transmission wont shift manually.

Does anyone know what the fix is for this?
