2003 A4 3.0 or 2003 A 2.7 T?
First off, let me start by saying I am new and will greatly appreciate any help. I am looking into purchasing a 2003 A4 3.0 6 sp with xenon's at a local certified pre-owned dealer with 42k for around $21,000 (after some bargaining). I drove the car and it is in excellent shape. I checked with a dealer about an hour away and they don't have any similar A4's, but mentioned having a 2003 A6 with 2.7T and 6 sp with xenon's. The A6 has 51k on it and is also certified pre-owned for the same price.
I am wondering if either car has better reliability than the other. My though is that the 2.7 with turbo may be less reliable, but I honestly don't know. I was very surprised to see an A6 in that price range, but the more I researched it today, it seems like there are quite a few available in that range. I don't understand how the A6 can cost almost $10,000 more new, but now is around the same price.
Any suggestions on what may be the better vehicle to purchase? Both are 1 owner Quattro vehicles that were serviced at the dealership.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Most of the time forced induction cars are going to be less reliable but I would still get the 2.7T over the 3.0 because of the many performance possibilities of the turbo motor. If your not worried about that and you just want a nice daily driver than I would say get the 3.0.

Well the bigger motor is obviously going to be a little better because of displacement factors, but I would say the A4 has more potential because of the vast tuning market out there for them. A6's are slightly larger, more luxurious cars but if your stuck on the bigger motor you could look into a B5 S4 which is also a 2.7 twin turbo v6 motor in the same chassis as an A4 which makes it a great platform to start with.

RE: 2003 A4 3.0 or 2003 A 2.7 T?
Thanks again. I am not sure that I would really get into doing any mods at this point. I went overboard on that a few years back with civic's, 240sx and mr2 turbo...and spent too much money...
I am somewhat older now and am looking for something more luxurious with 4 doors and awd, but still having a 6 sp. This is what led me to the A4. Now I'm torn between the A4 or the A6. I liked the feel of the 3.0 on the A4 more than the 1.8 in stock form. I am just confused because the A6 was so much more expensive to begin with and feel like it is such a better deal at the same price. of $21,000.
I guess I'll have to drive the A6 and see which one feels better.
Thanks again for your help
