Default 2004 A4 3.0 with a cracked block? HELP

I purchased a 04 A4 3.0Quattro in November of last year. I bought the car from a dealership and if had 45,000 miles on it. All seemed to be well until last week when I started the car and white smoke started pooring out of the exhaust. I had it towed to the dealership and they called me today with the bad news. Either a cracked cylinder or a cracked block. They are leaning towards replacing the entire engine and of course my warranty just ran out. HELP.

Default A4 nightmare continues

So after replacing the number two cylinder in august of 08 at a cost of 6800.00 dollars the car just died again. I have put 6,000 miles on the car since the new cylinder was installed. They are now saying that the car needs a new engine as their is a crack in the block. Ironically the crack is in the number two cylinder which they just replaced. I have no idea what to do. I have literally put 14,000 miles on this car since I purchased it and have sunk 8,000.00 into it. Now they want 11,000.00 for a new engine. That will bring the grand total to 19,000.00 not including the 23,000.00 i paid for it. Someone please help. I have been in constant contact with AOA but they are useless. I have also contacted the State of Maine Attorney General as well as the Better Business Bureau. I don't drive the car hard at all. I doubt it's ever even scene redline.
