'92 Coupe 16V
Hello all, I'm simon and I drive a K-reg/1992 Coupe.
*edit* - as with my latest post, if anyone has any guidance on setting the base idle, please share!
I was wondering if anyone can help me source a wiring diagram for the central locking as it is, to use the correct terminology, f*ck*d....
When you stop the car and take the key out of the ignition, it locks itself. And then it won't lock by pulling the driver's door release, so you have to pull the passenger one instead, which then unlocks it again.
And then when you get out, you have to go round to the passenger side to lock it. So I'm guessing something in the driver's side door has keeled over....maybe a wire has split...
Anyway, any help would be appreciated. My local mechanic took the door cards out and had a look, and told me "it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. See if you can get a wiring plan off the net, then we can fix it"
Thanks in advance!
Oh ps. It's the 2 litre, 16v, front-wheel-drive manual.

Hi 962,
my name is Benjamin and I'm from Germany. I'm drivin a 1988 Coupe with the 2.3 litres 5banger.
I regret that I haven't got access to english schematics, but maybe the german ones are helpful too.
Take a look here: http://nhh666.interbgc.com/audi/isham/index-5.html
The cable colors used in your Typ89 should be the same as in the Audi 100/200.
If the cable colors doesn't fit at all, I can still take some photos of the schematics in my repair manual.
If you need further translations just ask me.

Hey Benjamin!
Thank you very much for passing on those wiring diagrams! I'll have a thorough look and in due course I might need some translation. I figured out all but two of the colours - is "Gelb" yellow? And "Lila" pink/purple?
I think I might just have to see if I can get a workshop manual from Audi! Anyway, thanks again for your message ;-]
Best regards,
Simon

Hi,
yes, you're right.
In Germany we have the book series named "Now I help myself".
These books always have all the schematics in the annex.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw...udi+80&x=0&y=0
But as I see, they are not very affordable in the USA.

Hey, sorry I never responded before, but anyway....thanks very much benjamin for your helpful response. It looks like a mechanical failure in the locking mechanism on my driver's door.
Anybody got any guidance on how to set the base idle? I got a new idle control valve and it needs setting!
Cheers,
Simon
