Acetone good or bad?

Default Acetone good or bad?

hi ive heard that acetone could better your engine life and mileage per gallon . i have a audi s4 2010 and before i do this i wanted to hear some advice and thoughts

The only thing I've heard acetone is good for is removing paint. They make products that clean your engine as you run it, the ones I know are Seafoam and Startron.

You will not see any measurable increase in milage.. acetone is however a powerful (but corrosive!) solvent good for cleaning out deposits and as an effective OCTANE BOOSTER, it can be blended with other solvents such as methanol, isopropylnol, naptha, xylene, toluene, benzine, hexane, nitro benzine and aniline. at up to 3 oz. per gal. ratio. Ready made octane boosters available on the market also contain some kind of stabilizer or anti-corrosion additives to prevent damage to the fuel system componets. experiment at your risk. Dok
