Question Tiptronic shifter problem

Ok i have done alot of research on many forums but apparently i am the only one with this issue currently. I have a 98 Audi A6 Quattro 2.8 AHA 30v with about 196500 miles on it. On Friday when i parked it in the garage it had no issues what so ever but the wife drove it around all weekend while i was camping. On Monday as i was leaving to work i shifted out of reverse down to drive and over to shift manually with the tiptronic as i usually do and had noticed there was no resistence shifting from drive to manual and thought great that didnt feel right. So i then shifted it out of manual back to drive and it just fell right over to drive. I can still manually shift through the gears but if i dont hold it to the manual side and make a right handed turn it just falls back over to drive. Not sure if this is a major deal since everything seems to be working but i dont want something minor turning into something major. Is there something not engaging to keep the shifter locked to one side or the other or is it a problem in the transmission?

This happened to me, it scared the **** out of me I thought it was something serious.
Luckily its an easy fix its the magnets under the shifter that engage trip mode
