Audi s3 1999
hi,
Had my s3 for a month now. When I got the car the alarm was Working, led and the indicators flashed if I did not put key in ignition within 10 seconds of opening door. Took it to Audi to see if they could get rcl to work, with new battery. Nothing, but ordered a brand new key.
left dealers and the led etc now not working. New key arrived and 1hr of audis time and alrm and both keys not working although both still unlock, start and close the car windows. Central looking working fine.
I have checked the pump, wires fuses, press the button on drivers door pilar and tried a number of reprogramming tips from online. Still no joy!
It's not the end of the world but does anyone know what this issue is?
P.s I am not an expert on this, so if there is anything that I could of over looked in the above processes please let me know...
Thanks in advance, any tips welcome...
Thanks

not sure what the issue might be with your car. unfortunately, once you get an electrical gremlin of the type you describe, it is most difficult to get sorted. even more difficult through an online forum. I'm sure they scanned the car for codes when you took it to the dealer, but you may want to find someone with a vag-com. it sounds, to me, like it may be possible to fix your problem by recoding some of the central convenience functions, but that is just a swag at this point
good luck
have fun
