From BMW to Audi
I have always driven 3 series BMW's (5 to be exact). It was time to upgrade my 330i. I went to my local BMW dealership, which is the only one in town and with whom I'd had some business. To make a long story short, they were losers and pissed off a faithful customer. I played with my friend's 2007 A3 and was intrigued. Last week I pulled the trigger on an 06 A4 2.0t quattro S-line. Black on black with just about every option including Nav. I flew to Michigan to pick it up and drive it back to NM. It dumped snow on me for half the trip. Even with bald rear tires...no issues in the snow. I stopped along the way in KC MO at Bob Hindson Racing and they hooked me up with the 91 octane APR chip. Sweet! After 5 days, I'm not regretting the switch at all. It's the perfect balance of ripping car with sweet handling and winter fun machine. I can't wait to get it in the twisties when the roads are clear. I'm ready for the roof rack and a short shifter!

Welcome. Thats a great story. I have the reverse situation. I have driven an A4 for almost 3 years, and have loved every minute of it. However after test driving a 335xi the other day, it is going to be hard to sway me. That was an absolutely amazing machine. The sleeper could be the A3 though. Also looking at the 3.2 Q DSG. Have not gotten a chance to test drive yet. I am sure it will come down to those two for me when my lease is up in a few months. I also want to try a different engine than the 2.0T.
I've had 5 BMW's. I drove the 335 when it finally made it to NM. I wanted to test drive the 335xi in a manual, but the stealership ordered all tips and the one manual they got they wouldn't take out of the showroom. They were losers here. I was gonna de euro delivery and all, but I decided to wait, try out an Audi and maybe do Euro delivery on an S4 a few years down the road. I've got the bug to do some things to my car after the APR. I really want a short shifter. I had a UUC in the 330i and LOVED it. Best money I spent on the car. The wife even liked the shifter! The only problem I've had with the Audi is getting used to the clutch. It's so different than the BMW. Time will tell...
Been a loyal BMW fan but just picked up my first Audi (A4 2.0t Quattro - Quartz Grey/Black, Sport Suspension, 6spd Manual, Ipod, Bluetooth, Premium package) this week. Was looking into leasing another Bimmer, but couldn't pull the trigger on the 328XI for $90 more a month, plus had the order it with the options I wanted etc... The car definetely has a different feel than my last 330i e46. I really miss the engine noise, stiff clutch and steering of the Bimmer, but I'm know it's going to take some time to get used too the A4 and I'm sure this vehicle has alot to offer.Hopefully I can put some performance parts (exhaust, chips) that won't void the warranty. Any ideas? Don't want to drop to much cash since it's a lease, and I have no intension on buying after the 3 years is up.
