Bought an Avant but.....
When we test drove the car, the RPM's were surging at idle. Aside from that, it drover just fine. We liked the car. The salesman and sales manager both assured me that the car was on it's way to the dealer's Audi/VW store for the work. We came to terms on the price and awaited a call saying it was fixed.
Two days later I get a call from the salesman saying the car was ready. The cam shaft tensioner assembly had been replaced.
Once we leave the lot the car runs great, but only until it warms up. Once it got warm, the RPMs would surge again, from about 700 to about 900.
We took it back to the dealer the next morning to get it straight. The car is an 01 1.8t quattro automatic with just under 90,000mi. Should I be concerned about this purchase?
