I just bought a used 2003 A6 avant w/premium package. I paid $16000.00 and it has 77000 mi. The car is great except the CEL came on when I got it home. The code is p0741. It believe it means that the trans. fluid is low. Is that right. I'm a little leary of the car because I bought it before I saw all the issues these cars have (based on this forum) The car had the full 90k service done and I have all the paperwork showing the work. My gut is telling me to run away from this car- any of you have a thought on this.

 

Price sounds ok for Yr/ miles. If it's only low on tranny fluid, that's not too bad, but there could be other issues, get a CarFax. Was the tb done with the 90K, this is expensive service? Sometimes you have to go with your gut feelings...

 

Ya the timing belt was done as well as the brakes and a bunch of other stuff. The car fax came back as good so...
