I just bought an Audi A6, with a radio in SAFE mode. I have removed the radio, got the AUZ#, called Audi Customer Service and obtained the radio code. The problem is I can't get to the area to input the code. No matter how long I hold down the 'P. Scan' & 'RBDS' buttons simultaneously, the display of the radio never changes. The word 'SAFE' never changes to '1000', as the car sound system book indicates. I have disconnected the battery cable for 24 hours, then I tried again but with no success. I wonder if anyone has any idea of what else I should try.
