Hello everyone. I've been lurking on the site for a little over a month now and I thought it would be time to introduce myself. My name is Vinny and I live in south central CT. I've been looking at the 2001 1.8T A4's for quite sometime now. I'm convinced I must buy one now after reading all about them and the modifications that can be done. Test drove one about two weeks ago and fell in love with the feel of the car and of course the ever so slight turbo spool(which will turn into a not so slight spool when I'm done with it!). I've been reading and researching just about everything to do with the A4. I currently drive a 2001 Camaro SS, althought it is one of the fastest cars on the road and I love it to death, it is too much right now. I need something with a lower insurance rate, better gas mileage(due to job transfer) and handling in bad weather. The Camaro is strictly a fair weather car, hates the rain and snow even more. I believe the A4 will be an all around good car for my current needs. Currently I'm in the market to buy one but it is tough finding just the right one and I need to sell my SS first. If I wasn't on a mission to lower my car payment also, I would have sprung for the S4..what and awesome car! My boss drives a modded yellow S4. Hopefully I should have an A4 in the next two months. I look forward to becoming a member of this community. You all seem very helpful, friendly and full of knowledge. Welcome to the forums Vinny. I'm slightly biased, but I must say, I think you'll be very pleased with the 1.8t A4. Fun to drive in all weather, and there is a whole lot you can do with that engine. Sounds like you have been using the search function to check out past posts. There's a lot of Ausi knowledge on this site, so hopefully we will of some help to you when you vuy your A4 and start to modify it. I've got 2000 A4 Avant 1.8tqm and love that car too. I've done a fair bit to it, but I'm not done yet. Fire all the questions you can, we'll help any way we can. Look forward to hearing more from you.

 

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Yes I have been doing a lot of searching on the site. I'm trying to soak up as my A4 knowledge as I can before I buy the car. I'm really excited to purchase one and begin modding it. Modding cars is sort of an addiction for me. For the most part I know exactly what I want to do to the car already. I just might need some help along the way. I appreciate your offer to help me out with any questions, I'm sure I'll take you up on that many times!

Its going to be awhile! I haven't found one yet...well I did but I couldn't buy it just then.
