front end noise
I have a 2007 a6. When i make move steering wheel max to the right, a grinding / rubbing noise is generated. As I move the wheel back to the left a biot, the noise goes away. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what the issue(s) may be?
First: Willkommen to the forums!
Second: the A6 section would be a better place to put your question. there is not a lot of traffic here in the new member welcome area
Third: Where is the noise coming from? My best guess is that it is your power steering pump. It is, more or less, normal. when you turn the steering wheel all the way to lock, the power steering pump is continuing to try to turn the wheels past the point that they are physically able to turn. The dealership may be able to adjust the threshold so that the power steering pump cuts out before you hit the steering lock (it can probably be VAG-COM coded as well, but I'm not positive either way). Or you can just back it off a smidge when you get to that point. Anyway, that is my best guess.
Finally: good luck, have fun
