my name is mike. im from Midlothian IL (south subs of Chicago). im looking for a used audi for my wife but I need help choosing. don't really care about power or hot rodding it (for my wife who doesn't care). im just need awd, better gas milage, and more reliable than the Nitro she is driving now. my search has led me to a late 90s early 00s A4 or A6 between 80 and 100k miles.

questions:
1. im trying to stay away from turbos because of the need to replace or rebuild at that mileage. (open for discussion).

2. I am worried about part prices even though I do all of my own work and i moonlight at autozone so i get a discount.

3. is it safe to assume that the 3.0 & 2.0t is easier to find parts for and cheaper to repair because of the use of those engines across the vw platforms as well?

4. what are the problem areas to look for in these models?

again, not worried about power or hotrod-ability. Im an ex-mechanic so i know how to go through a used car but each model will have its own quirks to look for.
