Default HELP! do I DEMAND A NEW a3?

please help,

I have/had a A3 s-line Quttro 170BHP tdi march 2007 and has been with Audi Manchester for 7 weeks. now the probem started back in Aug when it went in for coolent loss 7 days later they told me they had fixed the problem then in Dec it started again loosing a pint of water a day! then on boxing day the starter motor failed Audi service picked the car, 10 days later they told me they have replaced the cylinder head as it was cracked plus the starter motor. so cheers Audi (well not for giving me a Citreon C4 piccasso)

now i've driven 100 yrds and the engine oil light comes on plus the car is juddering at 30mph I return the car and they told me the didn't replace the oil as it didn't need it? (loosing water no where to be seen so water must be going in the engine?) they told me due to the new cylinder head it needs running in????????? well cut a very long story short gave the car back as juddering was stressing me out (nothing major just like someonelifting the handbrake up and down)got a call saying it needs a new Turbo second call now saying they have replaced the turbo but it needs a new engine? told them I didn't want it back until it was 100% they drove it all weekend and phoned me saying its running great and they will bring it round the next day then another call saying the problem has come back? new call saying head tec guy says its the clutch plate/flyweel??????? so they replace the flywheel? again I told them don't bring it round till 100% so same story phone call saying drove it all weekend and it great! but guess what????? phone call now saying its still juddering?

all this time I've been telling them it all started when they replaced the cylinder head as it was running great just loosing a pint of water a day? so now the phone call is telling me they think its something to do with the ECU as they did a ECU upgrade so it might be that???????????

If you are still reading this then a big thank you but now I don't want the car back as I paid 24K need it every day and have lossed all faith in AUDI so quich recap, 2 new cylinder heads 1 new turbo 1 new engine 1 new flywheel 1 new ECU????? 1 starter motoroops forgot their is somthing else but can't remember what it is but they replaced that as well.

so should I demand a new car due to the amount of times i went back plus did it really need all those new parts?

many thanks

It didn't need all those parts. Anyone who knows a thing about blowing a head gasket or a cracked head knows you ALWAYS change the oil. If there is water/coolant in the oil it will wash the oil off the bearings and cause excessive wear or spun bearings in the bottom half of the engine, not to mention if coolant got pumped through the turbo.

However I would hope they changed the plugs out as well which may be the cause of the surging you feel. I wouldn't lose faith in the whole brand because of issues with one vehicle, although with a brand new car going bad it's hard not too.

I've owned a couple of Audi's and never had issues like this so maybe you got one that for some reason is what we call a lemon. In america there is a law that says if the car is in the shop for the same problem more than a certain number of times and it's not resovled then you can demand a new car.

I agree with Scott Long's post above.

I wouldn't lose faith in Audi - just that dealership's service department. Schedule a meetingto sit down with the servuce manager and have him try to rationalize each and every step they took with this car. Very quickly it should prove that they didnt follow the best steps possible.

By the sounds of it - I wouldn't want that other car back, ever.
