Hey i just joined this forum in hope to get information to point me in the right direction of getting an audi. Im looking into selling my truck and buyin a newer black A4, S4, or A6. If any of you have any insights or suggestions that would be really helpful in my decision making process. Im kind of confused about what engines are in what model and what year and also, what would be the most "bang for the buck". Anyways I look forward to getting some suggestions from you guys.

The A4 with the 1.8t is generally considered the best bang for the buck - great car for modding, too.
The A6 will give you the most luxury and legroom.
The new S4 just doesn't measure up anymore IMHO. Audi didn't kick it up enough with the new model. Waste of money and not much to mod either.

I don't know Imolas4, i've heard nothing but good things about the new S4's.

 

yeah, who's this ImolaS4 guy? The only bad things I've heard about the new S4s is their NA engine, which is personal preference, and it's jellybean bulbus *** styling... again up for interpretation

 

It's just my opinion. I'm not bashing the new S4 at all.

I just don't think the money is worth it for what you get - especially if you consider our last thread re: Audi's blurring of the performance lines.

Yeah it's a great car, but great enough to pay such a difference? Not me. For that money, I'd rather look to the larger cars - I'd rather pay for the A8L.

For what cdubzon40s asked, I think the A6 is a better investment or the A4 is a better "moddable" car. Since cdubzon40s didn't include the TT or the A8L in the question, then I stand by what I originally wrote.

Again, just my opinion.

Isn't that what's rumored for the S (or is it the RS) in the next couple of years? A 3.2 TT I think?? I think I heard the S8 was coming back soon as a TT V8 - it may be just a rumor.

 

I'm also new here and thought i would say hi on this thread.

I bought a used black audi A4 1.8T about 5 months ago and i love the colour. In the winter it gets to dirty to fast, but what can you do. I can't wait until the summer though.

I think the A4 is a good start, unless you have a family and can afford an A6.

Hey thanks guys for your imput...would the 3.0 be a good engine in the A4? A friend of mine said if i go with an s4 to go with the twin turbo 6 instead of the 8, i think i would but what do you all think of this? Im not looking to really mod the car that much which is why id like to buy the car with a turbo'd engine and jsut add like chip intake and exhaust.

oh yea and heres the truck i gotta sell before i buy an audi...
