I have a 2006 Audi Quatro, A4 convertible.
I can not open the hood, I think the cable broke. I just closed the hood after replacing the alternator. The battery is dead. I can not reach it by the front grill. I can not reach it either from under the radiater. When I pull the latch from the interior it lifts up to the max. and doesn't go back. I wish somebody could really help me, with a solution. Your help would be deeply appreciated.

 

It sounds exactly like a broken cable. I've had the same thing happen on one of my cars some time ago. I don't remember which one, or what I did to fix it, so I can't help you there. But if you do some googling, I'm sure you'll find something.
