I am currently looking into 00-01 aviator grey TT. Wanted one since they first came out, but its been a long time since I owned and drove an audi and I am completely out of the loop. My last audi was an 1986 4000S, and back then I loved the damn thing even with the ridiculous prices for parts. I live in Toronto, Canada and the winters here are long and tough. My current ride is a fully restored 1991 honda crx si. Not a good car for the winter by any means. I've always wanted quattro and I've always wanted an early aviator grey TT, but since I've started reading about them its been nothing but horror stories and warnings. From 1000$ broken glove box latches to faulty instrument clusters to continuously failing timing belt tensioners, leaky oil and coolant lines, braking control arms, burned out electronics chips and sensors the list just seems to be endless. I never had any serious issues with my old 4000S. Can it really be that bad? Any feedback and experiences shared would be greatly appreciated.
