Dont really know much about these cars so if someone could give me the pros and cons that would help me out alot. Looking to get a 1.8t for the sole purpose of the 30mpg.

#1 Do these have any common problems? The one im looking to buy has about 68k.

#2 how expensive is the maintenance on these vehicles?

#3 do they really get 30mpg or better on the high way?

#4 How does the car respond to mods (will be kept mostly stock)??

#5 Is it better to own amanual or auto? (i prefer manual)
(I own a 240sx, srt4, and 99z28)

Reason im posting this is because I need a reliable daily driver that I can take the family wherever without having problems. Please fill me in, I was looking @ lexus, and bmws but Im hoping this can be another route to go since I dont have an unlimited amount of money and thanks again.
